The Type 1475 is sophisticated active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar developed for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) J-20A heavyweight stealth fighter. The radar system includes side-mounted antennas to provide greater coverage. The Type 1475 can detect small targets with a radar cross section (RCS) of 5 square meters at distances of roughly 300 kilometers. It entered service in the late 2010s or early 2020s.
